Your safety is important to us. Below are some basic safety tips to know when operating your equipment. Tractor - Know your tractor, its implements and how they work. Read your operator’s manual.
- Use ROPS and seat belt whenever and wherever applicable.
- Be familiar with your terrain and work area.
- Never start an engine in a closed shed or garage.
- Always keep your PTO properly shielded.
- Keep your hitches low and always on the drawbar.
- Never get off a moving tractor or leave it with its engine running.
- Never refuel while the engine is running or hot.
- Keep all children off and away from your tractor and its implements at all times.
- Never be in a hurry or take chances about anything you do with your tractor.
- Reduce speed when turning, crossing slopes, and on rough, slick, or muddy surfaces.
- When tractor is stopped, set brakes securely and use park lock if available.
- Make sure an SMV sign is visibly displayed on the back of the tractor or implement being pulled.

Mower - Dress properly for the job, wearing substantial shoes, long pants and close-fitting clothes.
- Clean up and clear out the area before you start mowing.
- Fill your gas tank while the engine is cold.
- Read the operator’s manual to find out where the controls are and what they do.
- Know how to stop the machine quickly.
- Do not remove any guards or disable any of the safety devices.
- Never mow wet grass. You may slip on wet grass, and your mower is more likely to clog.
- Always turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug before attempting to unclog or work on the mower.
- Mow in sufficient daylight, looking 3 feet to 4 feet ahead for debris.
- Always watch your footing on slopes. Mow across an incline and never mow an incline that is too steep for balance and control.
- Stop the mower immediately and turn it off if you hit an object. Inspect the machine and repair any damage before starting the machine.
- Seek the professional advice and/or service of a qualified servicing dealer for problems.
Chain Saw- Wear protective clothing, including a hardhat, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, long sleeve shirt, long pants and sturdy boots or shoes.
- Do not operate a chainsaw when you are fatigued. Be alert – if you get tired while operating your chain saw, take a break.
- Keep the saw chain sharp and the saw, including the AV system, well maintained. A dull chain will increase cutting time, and pressing a dull chain through wood will increase the vibrations transmitted to your hands.
- Maintain a firm grip at all times, but do not squeeze the handles with constant, excessive pressures, take frequent breaks.
- Always wear ear plugs or ear muffs to protect your hearing.
- Always stop the engine before putting a chainsaw down or carrying it.
- Always shut off the engine and allow it to cool before refueling.
- When sawing, make sure that the saw chain does not touch any foreign materials such as rocks, fences, and nails.
